The Department of Urban Affairs and Planning, in collaboration with the Port Vila City Council, has announced an update to the Traffic Management Plan for Port Vila's Central Business District (CBD).

The revised plan introduces amended restricted zones within the CBD, aimed at improving traffic flow and pedestrian safety as the city continues to grow and develop. The updated plan is part of the government's broader efforts to modernize urban infrastructure and ensure smoother, more efficient movement in one of Vanuatu's busiest areas.

According to Road Compliance Officer Paul Morison, the new traffic arrangements are temporary and subject to change based on ongoing assessments and public feedback. Authorities are encouraging residents, businesses, and commuters to cooperate with the changes while the plan is implemented and monitored.

These updates are key step forward creating a more organized and safer environment for both motorist and pedestrians in the heart of the city.
