The internal review draft of the Vanuatu National Building Code 2025 (VNBC) is currently being reviewed by representatives from the Shefa Provincial Government, the Port Vila City Council, and the Urban Planning Unit.

This important consultation is a key step toward finalizing the revised Code before it is shared with the broader public. The VNBC 2025 introduces updated building and planning standards designed to strengthen safety, sustainability, and resilience across Vanuatu's built environment.

The review period will last two weeks, during which time feedback from Shefa and Port Vila authorities will be gathered to ensure the draftis both relevant and practical for implementation at the provincial and municipal levels.

Following this internal review, the Public Works Department will release the draft VNBC 2025 for nationwide public consultation. This process will provide communities, industry stakeholders, and the public an opportunity to help shape the future of Vanuatu's construction standards.

Participation from local government partners is critical. The insights and experience of the Shefa Provincial Government and the Port Vila Citiy Council will help ensure that revised regulations are grounded in real-world conditions and can be effectively enforced across urban and rural settings.
